GoCertify: What are the most valuable study techniques for this certification?
Anthony Bruno: For those subjects that you may not be too familiar with, read the chapters and sections that cover them. Practice all the chapter questions. Before the test day, review the chapter's Foundation Summary and chapter questions, and the CCDA exam on CD-ROM. Don't just memorize the answers, make sure you understand the answers
GoCertify: How much actual hands-on experience does one need to pass the exam?
Anthony Bruno: I would say at least 1 year of experience with Cisco routers.
GoCertify: Could one pass it without hands-on experience?
Anthony Bruno: I doubt it. No.
GoCertify: Do you think that all the effort and expense necessary to earn a CCDA is worth it? Are there some people it isn't worthwhile for?
Anthony Bruno: Yes, it is worthwhile. Especially for those interested in the Cisco design track. As an entry-level certification, only one written test is required.
GoCertify: What other advice do you have for would be CCDAs?
Anthony Bruno: The candidate should understand that this certication involves a little more that understanding the network technologies. The CCDA takes the customer's business and technical requirements and meets those requirements with network technologies and Cisco routers and switches. The steps in network design are important.
