I am happy with the product I bought and will use this vendor again, if I find what I am looking for.

Ok, you should know this is not a slam dunk or a quick learn this is a tool like any other. Review PMBOK take proper supporting courses and use your project management expert judgement and this will help dentify weakness. Rita Mulcahy and Ande Crowe are both excellent and make the learning smooth. I spent 3 weeks studying and one week with this CD test prep and took exam and passed with success. Excellent lay out of sample questions calmed my nerves for the 4 hour exam (took me 3.5 hours). Again not a slam dunk I know folks that used this and had to retake and passed it the second time - me myself was a first time go. results will vary.
You will not be disappointed with this material.

Just got back from taking the PMP exam and passed the first time.
Took about 3 hours exactly. It was not nearly as hard as I expected.
Of course my impression of the test is based on the particular questions I was given from the test bank. Rita's sample questions were very close.
I recommend study plan:
Read over PMBOK (not a lot of time on it)
Read Rita's book (a little more closely)
Get Rita's simulation software
Take every question
Write down missed (from bottom right corner of screen) Reference and
read books on missed questions
Take every question until you can get it right
Take the test
I don't think the processes need to be memorized or Rita's process chart - you can pass without doing this.
I also studied ESI and was scoring 55% on their test questions. Their questions are way off and they draw a high percentage from a bunch of misc books. Don't bother with ESI.

As of July 2008, the calculator is available on the computer so you don't need to bring one. They gave me a four sheet scrap paper book.
Got a key to a locker at the test site where had to empty my pockets.
The test fills up the computer screen.
Had to leave ID(driver's license) on the desk the whole time.
They provided headsets to block out noise.
Remember starting in July the test is based on a new PMBOK.
Good Luck. I studied many months.

Very useful piece of software. Simulation of PMP exam with stressful clock is nice too.

Two key items from other reviews struck me and I wish to re-emphasize them. It is indeed easy to get familiar with and "learn" the questions and answers after a while even though the database sounds large. But it did help me prepare for and pass the PMP exam. However, the idea that for all of this money you only get to use the software for one year is ridiculous and a rip off. You order it, the CD shows up (and yes, activation support can indeed be a hassle esp if one of your machines is XP and the other is Vista), and you have an activation code. What it SAYS is that you may no longer receive database updates after one year; what actually HAPPENS is that the entire database goes away after one year and if you wish to go back to study the questions again (e.g., if you want to study for the PgMP exam), you will find that your expensive software no longer works. In fact, the notice that you receive about your software having "expired" then says you have 24 practice questions...and if you want the database back you have to once again purchase the software. This is entirely absurd. Bottom-line: the book is great; stick to it and don't waste your money on this disappearing software.
