This book is very hard to learn from. It is very dry and appears as a book with tons of concepts and terms with no previous preparation for them for the reader. If it had the proper level of details to understand the many concepts, it would be 4x thicker but more valuable for what it is written for, 'Self-Study Guide', not a review of key points as it appears for new comers of Voip.

i have my ccnp and ccna wireless, so i've been through 6 other ciscopress books. althoug this ccvp book is ok, it rambles over the same subjects way too long. i won't know if it's on target for the test until i take the test, but so far it seems mediocre compared to the other ciscopress books i've bought.

I currently hold CCNP, CCDP, CCSP, CCNA - Voice and Wireless certifications. In the 10+ plus years in the networking industry, I have read more than 50+ technical books, great majority of them being Ciscopress books.
This is unequivocally the worst "book" I have ever read. I put it in parenthesis because there is absolutely no structure or cohesiveness to it. There are no explanations, no advice, no recommendations, no best practice guidelines, etc. It is merely a collection of configuration ... Read More

Pretty good book, for it goes into great detail on topics such as signaling, port configurations and overall topics covered in the exam.
One word of advice is not to just rely on this book for the CVOICE exam there are some questions on the exam that will test your knowledge on bandwidth management and port configurations.
Overall good book.
