Editorial Review:

Product Description:
Provides two complete practice exams with an answer key, and explanations that reinforce the reasoning behind the correct answers and clarification on why the wrong answers are wrong. Features sections on proven test-taking strategies, warnings on trick questions, time-saving study tips, multiple-part question strategies, and shortcuts. Contains all of the curriculum objectives of the TCP/IP exam #70-059 and serves as a complement to the TCP/IP Exam Prep.

Amazon.com Review:
One of the hardest optional tests in the MCSE battery also is one of the most popular. The TCP/IP exam ranks as one of the favorites of test takers. Why? Because as the protocol that holds the Internet (and Internet-standard intranets) together, TCP/IP is so useful.

TCP/IP is so large and feature-rich that this book does not attempt to explain it much or tutor you in how to use it. Rather, MCSE Exam Cram: TCP/IP tries to explain the exam so you're better prepared to pass.

That's not to say that this book is devoid of explanation. You'll find brief summaries of routing, IP addresses, DNS (Domain Name Server), DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol), WINS (Windows Internet Naming Service), SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol), and troubleshooting--all key parts of the exam. However, these summaries are useless to those without grounding in TCP/IP from either experience or more in-depth books. The real strength of this book is its collection of questions, which are presented with a discussion (not just a statement) of the right and wrong answers and will do much to prepare you for the exam. In future editions, it would be more helpful if the layout team put questions and answers on separate pages.
