I used this in combination with the Official questions and answers book. Passed the exam with a fair margin. If you do not have an IT audit background, I would not try to "test first".

I took the CISA assessment on ISACA's website mid-summer and got a 64% - I needed help. So, I read the online reviews for this book and other books, and I felt this book would be a good fit for me, because it would be an easy read - not packed with endless, bloated technical detail. Too much "extra" info jammed into a study guide will only force you to memorize too much - more is not better in this case. The title of the review says it all. I am on a budget, and after reading lots of reviews on study guides, I selected this one. I made the most of this book. I read it completely through and followed the author's advice on which sections to re-review based on my background. I did the questions at the end of each chapter and I did every test question on the included CD. This was the only book I used to study for the Exam along with the ISACA question database CD and a MISTI cram course. I recommend this book to anyone wanting to study for the exam. Well written, full of great information and it is a great resource to refer back to once in a while. I passed the exam in June 2009.

I caveat this review with the fact that I haven't taken the exam yet.
This book along with CD (containing PDF version of book, flash cards and sample exams) seems complete. It goes through alot of detail and includes diagrams to help explain the concepts. I believe it will be the key resource in helping me pass the exam.
